The CDC published new data that finds “the median age of COVID-19 cases declined from 46 years in May to 37 years in July and 38 in August.” The epidemiologists also found that a surge in positive test results among adults 20-39 years old in southern states was followed by a surge of new COVID cases among adults 60 and older 4-15 days later.
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo says the state will form its own task force to assess the safety and efficacy of any COVID-19 vaccines. This is similar to the approach New York took to diagnostic testing for the novel coronavirus.
