Florida’s governor defended his decisions to reopen businesses before COVID-19 trends headed downward as the state reported more than 11,000 new infections in the past 24 hours. Over 200 deaths have been recorded in the past two days. and the rate of positive tests is now 18% statewide and close to 1 out of every 4 tests in hard-hit areas in and around Miami.
The FDA added to the list of hand sanitizer products that are unsafe for human use. Most of the tainted products originated in Mexico.
The University of Texas and others are launching a major, long-range study to track COVID-19.
