Facing its highest tally of new COVID19 cases since April, Italy ordered everyone to wear masks when leaving their homes.
National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Anthony Fauci called on Americans to “give him six weeks” of strict social distancing, face covering and hand hygiene, and “you’ll see the numbers go down.” Without this, the number of deaths will grow to more than 300,000, he told an audience at American University.
Eli Lilly reports significant antibody response to its monoclonal antibody drug for COVID-19, according to STATNews. President Trump was treated with a monoclonal antibody treatment by Regeneron. Both products are synthesized from antibodies taken from COVID-19 survivors.
Last week, Amazon released data on its employee COVID-19 testing and urged other companies to follow. The Wall Street Journal reports that other companies are not jumping at the opportunity to disclose worker COVID rates. Amazon had reported more than 19,000 of its employees had tested positive for COVID-19 but the rate was lower than expected.
